Woman Arrested for Drugs Found in Body Cavity
FIRST REPORTED 3:00pm 4/23/12 A London Mills woman was arrested not only for allegedly not showing up for jail on time, but also for trying to bring suspected drugs into the jail.

The Knox County Sheriffs Department says they were first alerted over the weekend to information regarding a future attempt to bring drugs into the jail through a subject sentenced to serve weekends at the jail starting Saturday night's at 6.

Turns out, deputies say, 44-year old Erin Nelson showed up about three-and-a-half hours late.

Deputies say Nelson removed contraband and an illegal substance from a body cavity, before being sent briefly to the hospital for an examination.

Nelson was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver in a Penal Institution, Possession of Cannabis in a penal institution, and Escape.

Nelson is jailed awaiting further court proceedings. It's not clear why Nelson was serving the weekend jail sentence.
