Knoxville City Collector Retiring
Seventeen-plus years as the city collector in Knoxville is nearing its end for Pam Eagle.

Monday night she announced her retirement from the position, which was approved by the city council unanimously. It's effective at the end of the month, but Eagle will continue to serve as the City Clerk.

She declined an interview on tape with WGIL, but emailed to us her letter to council members. In that letter she says she's enjoyed working for Knoxville for thirty-three years, but feels it's time to pass her knowledge on to someone else. According to Eagle, staying on as City Clerk will allow her to help train a new city collector-- who must be in place by April 28th.

Eagle's resume with Knoxville includes thirteen years as city treasurer, with stints as cemetery bookkeeper and secretary for the planning commission prior to that.
