Knoxville Man Accused of Kidnapping Woman from Galesburg

A Knoxville man faces a pair of felony charges after allegedly taking a woman on an unwanted car ride.  Knox County Jail records indicate 20-year old Dominique McClendon was arrested Sunday night, initially on charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault.  However, the Knox County State's Attorney has since filed charges of Aggravated Unlawful Restraint and Criminal Sexual Assault.

Galesburg Police say McClendon of driving an unidentified woman in his car from Galesburg Sunday evening, forcing her to perform a sex act on him, and refusing to let her leave the car.

The victim was later found by Warren County Sheriffs Deputies at an intersection in Saint Augustine, while McClendon was arrested in Abingdon after allegedly speeding.

During a brief court appearance Monday afternoon, Knox County Circuit Court Judge Steven Bordner set McClendon's bond at $150,000 and ordered him not to have contact with the victim.  McClendon will next be in court Friday morning for his first appearance with the Knox County Public Defender.
