Monmouth Residents Arrested Following Drug Raids

Two Monmouth residents face felony charges after drugs were allegedly found in their home yesterday morning.

Warren County State's Attorney "Chip" Algren says Monmouth Police, Warren County Sheriffs Deputies, the West Central Illinois Drug Task Force, and the State Police Tactical Response Team conducted what they call simultaneous but unrelated drug raids at 1107 South First Street, and 832 South First Street, around six o'clock yesterday morning.

Algren says 100 grams of cannabis was found at the home of 18-year old Jami Vanskike, while cocaine and cannabis were found at the home of 30-year old Jerome Jackson.  The two of them face felony charges of Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver, while Jackson faces an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver. Both are in the Warren County Jail, where they are expected to make initial court appearances later today.

Algren says Vanskike could face as much as five years in prison and 50-thousand dollars in fines if convicted in court, while Jackson could face up to ten years in prison and three-hundred-thousand dollars in fines.
