Juvenile Arrested in Connection to Oriole Drive Fire

Galesburg Police say a juvenile is under arrest, accused of setting a fire that caused damage to a Galesburg home yesterday morning.

A statement from the City of Galesburg indicates a juvenile has been arrested by Galesburg Police on a charge of Aggravated Arson in connection to yesterday morning's fire at 1701 Oriole Drive.

Galesburg Police officials say the 13-year-old female has been transported to the Knox County Mary Davis Home in Galesburg.

Crews spent about three hours at the scene of the fire that was first reported shortly after 7am Thursday, and could be seen from a second floor window. Police say several points of ignition were found in the home, but crews were able to get the fire under control in about ten minutes, but had to cut a hole in the home's roof in order to ventilate it.

The two adults that were in the home at the time were able to get out safely, but were treated for smoke inhalation at OSF Saint Mary Medical Center.
