Engineers Excited For Reappointment
A local engineering firm that's been doing business with an area community says they look forward to continue to provide the town with quality engineering services.

Steve Bruner, of the engineering firm Bruner, Cooper, and Zuck in Galesburg, said his company has been doing projects with the City of Knoxville since the early 1970's. They have worked on two water towers, water plant reconstruction, major construction and additions to the sanitary sewer treatment plant and new sewers to reduce backups during wet weather in the past.

Bruner tells WGIL the recent reappointment by the Knoxville City Council to use BC&Z as their engineering firm has benefits for the business.

"Obviously they're a local client and we very much appreciate working for any area municipalities. Knoxville is one of our oldest clients in terms of how long they have been with the firm and it's an overall benefit to our business, no doubt about it."

Bruner says they are currently waiting to hear to the status of stimulus funding they may be coming for three projects in Knoxville. Repainting of the North water tower, and two projects at the sewage plant have been submitted for federal funding. He says he thinks the repainting project is currently the furthest along and has the best chance to get stimulus package money.

Bruner says they should get a response on the projects even though he says that projects are flooding in from all over the state.
