Burris Speaks to U of I About Wiretaps
U.S. Sen. Roland Burris (D-Ill.) says the only thing federal wiretaps released Wednesday reveal is that he had a conversation about being appointed to the Senate.

Speaking on the University of Illinois campus at almost the same time the federal court released tape of the 6 1/2-minute phone call between him and Robert Blagojevich, the brother of then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Burris says he had no idea the governor wanted money in exchange for appointment to the Senate.

Burris says the tape shows nothing more than that he has been telling the truth about his appointment all along.
