Retired Judge to Address CSC GED Grads
The Carl Sandburg College 40th annual GED graduation ceremony will be held Wednesday, May 12, at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Galesburg. The ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m.

Harry Bulkeley, former Resident Circuit Judge of Knox County, will give the graduation address. Bulkeley is an Abingdon native that attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He then earned his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law and returned to Knox County to practice law.

In 1982 he was appointed as Associate Circuit Judge and in 1994 was elected Resident Circuit Judge where he served until his retirement in 2006. Bulkeley served on the Galesburg Landmark Commission for several years as well as leading a yearly tour of Hope Cemetery for Leadership Greater Galesburg. In recent years Bulkeley began attending Civil War reenactments, which led to his portrayal of Ulysses S. Grant in the History Channel's production "Sherman's March."
