Brady vs. Brady on IL Spending Cuts
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Gov. Pat Quinn's campaign is jumping on a comment about the budget by Republican Bill Brady.

Brady said last week that he has never called for "across the board" spending cuts. He even challenged a reporter to find any tape of him saying those words.

But Brady has repeatedly called for across-the-board cuts. He has used the phrase in public speeches, debates and news conferences.

The Quinn campaign criticized Brady Monday over the contradiction.

The Chicago Democrat's staff suggested Brady doesn't understand his own budget plan or can't remember what it is.

There was no immediate response from Brady.
