Palin Mentions Illinois' History of Corruption
ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) -- Sarah Palin didn't miss the chance to talk about Illinois' rich history of corruption during a speech to a sold-out crowd in a Chicago suburb.

Palin told an audience of 4,300 people Wednesday night to fight government corruption and not back down. The former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate said corruption needs to go.

Ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich goes on trial on corruption charges next month. He has pleaded not guilty to charges that he tried to sell President Barack Obama's old senate seat.

Blagojevich's predecessor, former Republican Gov. George Ryan, is in prison after being convicted on corruption charges.

Palin delivered her speech to supporters at a Rosemont theater after raising money earlier in the day for the Illinois Republican Party.
