Moffitt Heads to Springfield
A local lawmaker is on his way back to Springfield Monday, and he says he hopes he won't be there all that long.

The Illinois House will be in session starting at 4pm Monday, and State Representative Don Moffitt says he'll be there.

The Gilson Republican tells WGIL while he's not aware of any definite budget plan just yet, one has to be ready soon.

"I hope we can come out of this in the next few days with a budget that does not spend more than is coming in -- that does not dig the hole deeper," Moffitt said. "At some point, we've got to deal with not only that, but then starting to pay that deficit down. That occurred over a number of years."

Moffitt says specifically, the last six years, most of which he believes ousted Governor Rod Blagojevich had something to do with.

Moffitt says he's still not a fan of borrowing to meet the state's pension obligations as Governor Pat Quinn continues to suggest, but says all options are on the table, and all need to be seriously looked at.
