Henderson County State's Attorney Becomes 9th Circuit Judge
A Warren County native who's been an area State's Attorney has been picked to receive a bit of a promotion.

The office of 9th Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Greg McClintock says Henderson County State's Attorney Raymond Cavanaugh has been picked to become an Associate Judge.

Cavanaugh, McClintock says, is a Warren County native, having graduated from what used to be known as Yorkwood High School in rural Monmouth.

Cavanaugh is also a graduate of Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and later got his law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

He's been a practicing attorney since 1990, having passed the 20 year mark earlier this month.

Cavanaugh currently resides in rural Gladstone. It's not clear who will replace him as Henderson County State's Attorney.

Henderson, Knox, Warren, Fulton, Hancock, and McDonough counties make up the 9th Judicial Circuit -- and as Associate Judge, it's possible Cavanaugh could show up at the Knox County Courthouse from time to time.
