State Museum Offers Kids' Programs
Parents find them educational. Kids think they're fun! The Illinois State Museum has posted its programs for children on its website, and the offerings include programs on art, history, and science.

Since most children have at least some time off over the summer, the museum plans more programs during the weekday. Elizabeth Bazan, public programs coordinator at the museum, which is in Springfield, says these programs attract hundreds of kids ranging in age from 5th graders on down.

One program, called "Mission: Illinois," targets 9- to 11-year olds, and will take kids on a time travel adventure during which they see Illinois in its jungle phase, its glacier phase, and more.

Art @ Play will include blacksmiths who will be making toys, and helping children to understand that art can be fun, and not just something to look at.

Other programs include Super Saturdays in A Place for Discovery, and the Bob Steffan Summer Film Fest. The programs can be found by CLICKING HERE.
