Congressman Calls for Focus on Immigration Reform
(IRN)-One Congressman says now that Taliban leader Osama Bin Laden has been caught, it is time for the President to focus on immigration reform.

U.S. Representative Luis Guitierrez (D-Chicago) has been fighting this battle for a long time. He says the President must now step up to the plate and use his discretionary power to ensure that families are not broken up by deportation.

"You're not going to deport your way out of this problem," Guitierrez said. "Even at 400,000 deportations a year you're not going to deport yourself out of this problem. It's time to say that in this America we are going to fix our immigration system by allowing those that are working and from whom we really get a lot of wealth from, allow them to integrate themselves fully into the fabric of this society."

Guitierrez says he has spoken with the President and believes progress on immigration reform will be made soon.
