Celeb Adviser's Attorney Pleads Guilty in NYC
NEW YORK (AP) -- An attorney has admitted in New York City he conspired to launder nearly $19 million to aid celebrity financial adviser Kenneth Starr's fraud.

Jonathan Bristol pleaded guilty Monday in Manhattan federal court.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara (buh-RAH'-ruh) says Bristol ``abused his position'' as a partner at a prominent law firm to repeatedly break the law. He says Bristol ``should have been a gatekeeper'' but instead was an ``enabler'' for Starr's criminal activity.

The 55 year old Bristol could face up to five years in prison when he's sentenced Sept. 26.

As part of his plea agreement, he must pay more than $18.6 million in restitution.

Starr once advised Wesley Snipes, Sylvester Stallone and Martin Scorsese. He pleaded guilty in September and was sentenced in March to seven and a half years in prison.
