Meth Maker Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison
An Altona man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for his involvement in methamphetamine manufacturing.

35 year old Sean Norvell faces the punishment after having been arrested a number of time for drug related charges.

Most recently, Norvell was arrested in July of 2009 when a meth lab was found in his Alonta home and his three year old daughter was present during the raid.

He was charged with a Class X felony of participation in meth manufacturing, but was released on the condition he would work with police to provide information about other individuals involved with drugs.

According to testimony Wednesday in Knox County Circuit Court, Norvell provided a list to authorities as possible targets, made one attempt at a drug buy, which was unsuccessful, and was again arrested when police found meth making materials in his car in February of 2010.

He faces a Class One felony of unlawful possession of meth with intent to deliver on that arrest. Norvell pleaded guilty to both counts in early March, and although a number of people were brought forward to testify to his character, Judge James Stewart said it doesn't outweigh the seriousness of the crimes.

Norvell was sentenced to the maximum penalty of 25 years for the first charge and 5 years for the second charge which he will serve consecutively.
