Closed School May Reopen as District Office
The Monmouth-Roseville School Board, now that new members have been seated, has begun reconsidering opening Willits Primary School back up to use as both a district office and a maintenance shop.

Willits was closed a year ago due to massive budget cuts. But Superintendent Paul Woehlke tells WGIL the board believes converting a house the district had donated to it into a district office may be more trouble than it's worth.

"When they looked at the amount of renovations required at the house and some of the limitations that it caused and also that fact they preferred to have some combined facility that meets the needs of both the district office and the maintence shop."

Woehlke says the board's newly-reconstituted Physical Resources Committee will look at the matter further and hold a meeting sometime later this month.

The District-238 Board Tuesday night approved a job description for a district Maintenance Director, and okayed Woehlke creating a draft policy that would allow district employees to attend school in the district tuition-free.

A public hearing on the proposal is scheduled for June.
