Committee of Ten Presents Recommendations
The Committee of Ten for the Abingdon, Avon, and Bushnell Prairie School District's is almost done with their goal.

The group was put together to study the feasibility of consolidation and what a new school district would look like.

Now Chairman Jerry Arthur says the next step is an important one.

"We do need to know if the boards are in support of the concept of placing this on the ballot or secondly do they want to have the Committee of Ten go back and redo some of the recommendations and revise those recommendations. The difficulty with that, of course, is when we talk about one area it impacts everything else, particularly as you can tell it does impact the finance."

The committee gave their recommendations in buildings and grounds, transportation, curriculum, and finance Thursday night in front of the school board memebers of all three districts.

If the districts decide to put the question on the ballot, the plan would have to go the Regional Office of Education where additional public hearings would be scheduled.
