LaHood: Washington Connections Good for Chicago
CHICAGO (AP) -- U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood says Rahm Emanuel's Washington connections are a good thing and can translate into more money for the city of Chicago.

LaHood was among the dignitaries on hand for Emanuel's Monday inauguration. He replaces retiring Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, who didn't seek a seventh term.

LaHood says Emanuel has already told him he'll be sending his transportation team to Washington to talk about the city's priorities. He says other people in President Barack Obama's Cabinet also want to help Emanuel, who was Obama's chief of staff before he quit to run for mayor.

In addition to LaHood, Vice President Joe Biden and his wife also attended the inauguration, as did Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and current Obama chief of staff Bill Daley, the outgoing mayor's brother.
