Judge Allows Timelines for Jury at Blago Retrial
CHICAGO (AP) -- The defense at former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's corruption retrial has objected to prosecution plans to give jurors detailed timelines they can use once they begin deliberations in several weeks.

Blagojevich attorney Sheldon Sorosky told Judge James Zagel on Monday that the timelines would be an outline of the government's case. He says that would put the defense at a major disadvantage.

Zagel rejected that argument. But he did tell prosecutors to make some minor edits.

Hung jurors at the first trial last year described their frustration trying to understand the chronology of Blagojevich's alleged crimes. They drew up a makeshift timeline themselves and taped it to a jury room wall.

The new timelines are part of an overall push by prosecutors to make the case easier to understand.
