CHICAGO (AP) -- Actions under way to monitor and remove the invasive Asian carp from Chicago area waterways will be demonstrated Monday on the Chicago River.

The committee is led by the White House Council on Environmental Quality and includes seven federal agencies and all eight Great Lakes states among other groups.

Representatives of the White House, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the federal Fish and Wildlife Service, Coast Guard, Geological Survey and Environmental Protection Agency will attend.
