Peoria Man Gets 2 Years in Prison for Contempt
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- A judge in central Illinois sentenced a Peoria man to two years in prison for failing to appear as a witness in a murder trial.

The (Peoria) Journal Star reports that 21 year old Kendall Drummond was sentenced Thursday on the contempt charge.

Drummond was supposed to testify in December at the murder trial of Nikko Clark, who's accused of killing a 23-year-old man after a fight over a video game.

Drummond was later arrested and brought to court in March when Clark's case went to trial.

But Peoria County Judge Steve Kouri noted Drummond refused to testify and said more than 100 times he couldn't remember what happened, despite having given police a detailed statement.

Jurors deadlocked, and Clark faces a second trial on the murder charge this summer.
