Police Investigate Attempted Abduction Near Local School
Galesburg police are continuing an investigation into who might have tried to lure a girl into their car Thursday morning before classes started at Churchill Junior High School.

Police reports and District-205 officials indicate that a sixth grade student was a few blocks away from Churchill, when a man in an older white four-door car told her to get in.

Police say the girl didn't, she kept on walking to school, and reported the incident to administrators.

The man is described as being in his 50's or 60's, and balding with some gray hair and a gray mustache.

No one was hurt, and no one is in custody.
Anyone with information should call police or the Galesburg-area Crimestoppers hotline.
