2 Year Old Boy Found in Peoria Pool Dies
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities in central Illinois say a 2 year old boy found floating in a Peoria swimming pool has died.

The (Peoria) Journal Star reports that Earl M. Woods III was found in the rainwater-filled pool Sunday.

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says the above-ground pool wasn't officially opened for the season but there wasn't a cover on it.

Authorities say the boy was home with one of his legal guardians and two other children when he went missing. One of the other children found him in the pool, and the guardian attempted CPR until emergency crews arrived.

Authorities are investigating the death.
