Driver in Fatal Accident Wants Private Attorney
The court case for the driver in a fatal car accident last month has been continued to June 17th.

19 year old Jose Beltran was to make his first court appearance in Knox County Circuit Court Monday, however the case was continued in order to give Beltran more time to obtain a private lawyer.

Beltran was arrested April 22nd on charges of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, driving under the influence of alcohol, and aggravated driving under the influence.

He was driving a car with three passengers at the time of the early morning accident in Gilson, where 15 year old Knoxville High School student Bradon Melton was killed.
Beltran has been free on bond since April 25th.
