IL Police Department to Unveil 9/11 Memorial Car
WAUCONDA, Ill. (AP) -- Police in a northern Illinois village plan to use this weekend to unveil a moving memorial to the 9/11 attacks, and that's moving in the literal sense.

The Wauconda police department's Memorial Squad Car will make its debut Monday at the village's Memorial Day Parade.

The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald reports that a military veteran and member of the Wauconda police department will drive the specially designed car.

Police Chief Doug Larsson says local graphic artist Tom Goyette designed a collage featuring the attack sites overlaid with the names of everyone killed during the attacks.

The Memorial Squad Car will be in service for one year. After that, the car's regular police markings will be restored.
Larsson says the project is being funded by private donations.
