Illinois Students Learn Newest Farming Technology
HEYWORTH, Ill. (AP) -- A central Illinois high school is giving agriculture students a shot at the most cutting edge technologies.

Heyworth High School will have access to one of the latest models of a John Deere tractor with state-of-the-art-GPS. The school has a large and active chapter of FFA.

The chapter will borrow the tractor for its soybean plot north of the community.
The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reports the farm equipment is worth about $500,000 and is on loan from Cross Implement in Minier.

Junior Austin Sinn plans to farm after graduation with his father and grandfather. He says he's impressed with the technologies and that event his family members are still getting used to it.

About 70 of the school's 210 students are FFA members.
