First FBI Recordings Play at Blago Retrial
CHICAGO (AP) -- Prosecutors have played excerpts of wiretap recordings for the first time to jurors at former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's corruption retrial.

The recording relate to allegations that Blagojevich sought to sell or trade President Barack Obama's vacated U.S. Senate seat.

In one, Blagojevich is heard balking at appointing someone favored by Obama without getting something for himself in return.

The recordings were played Tuesday over courtroom speakers as the 12 jurors and six alternates followed along on written transcripts of the tapes on hefty binders across their laps.

The recordings are at the core of prosecutors' case. They began presenting their case on Tuesday by calling their first witnesses.

The tapes are being played while former Blagojevich chief of staff John Harris is on the stand.
