A Day Where You're Urged to Pray
Local religious leaders say it's important for members of the public to say a little prayer for various aspects of every day life.

That's because Galesburg is again taking part in the annual "National Day of Prayer" Thursday at the First Christian Church on Broad Street starting at noon and lasting until 1.

Local pastor Leigh Nygard tells WGIL there are plenty of things to pray for.

"We're going to pray for the same seven areas; government, church, military education, family, media and business."

Nygard says there will seven separate prayer stations where small groups can form to pray for those various areas.

Nygard says there also will be scripture readings and some hymns sung during the local National Day of Prayer.
