Downtown Farmers Market Returns
The weather is starting to warm up, finally, which is just in time for an annual event being held Saturdays for the next several months in downtown Galesburg.

The Galesburg Business Association is holding their annual Farmers Market downtown in the parking lot across from the Kensington on Simmons Street, every Saturday starting Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until noon.

GBA Secretary/Treasurer Amye Bean is in charge of the farmers market, and tells WGIL there are plenty of vendors already, but there's always room for more.

"Right now we have twelve vendors that are locked in for the entire year but each week you have some that can't come or can't make it so you have anywhere from 10 vendors up to 20 you know on any given week."

Bean says she's not sure where the vendors come from, but she imagines some come from southern Illinois and some work with farmers in this area.

She considers all items sold at the Farmers Market to be locally grown, that is, grown in the state of Illinois.

The Farmers Markets will run through October.
