Sitter Accused of Shaking Baby Released from Prison
A 21-year-old Galesburg baby-sitter suspected of shaking and causing injury to an infant was released from prison Tuesday.

Knox County Circuit Judge James Stewart issued a $10,000-dollar recognizance bond to Marina England. Her bond was dropped to that amount last week from $50,000-dollars, but she was still unable to post 10-percent.

Prosecutors accuse England of shaking a 3-month-old baby the night of April 17th. They say she allegedly shook and screamed at the tot for not drinking a bottle. The victim's 6-year-old sibling and mother allegedly witnessed separate stages of the incident.

England was charged last month with Aggravated Battery of a Child, Domestic Battery, and Endangering the Life of a Child.

Also Tuesday, Assistant State's Attorney Elisa Tanner filed a motion waving all scheduled court appearances until June 26th. She says the victim will be undergoing repeat medical testing to determine the severity of injuries sustained last month. Initial tests following the alleged shake revealed there was no concussion, but subsequent behaviors suggest differently.

England told Stewart she will be staying at her mother's residence. Terms of the recognizance bond include no contact with the victim's family or any unsupervised contact with a child under the age of twelve.
