Unfinished Business for Galesburg City Council
What the Galesburg City Council couldn't complete two weeks ago, may or may not be completed Monday night.

That's because once again, the Galesburg City Council has a full agenda for their meeting Monday, which includes three mayoral proclamations and the city's annual issuance of Historic Preservation Awards.

May seventh's meeting ran four hours and 15 minutes counting a closed-door session, and the last item on the agenda could not be fully discussed.

That was a series of budget adjustments the city wanted made. Since then, those adjustments have been separated so that they can be discussed individually.

One is the funding of Lake Storey Beach for operation this summer. About 80-thousand dollars worth would be needed for operations, coming from what the city terms accounting re-classifications.

Funding for the over-sized brush drop-off program, two projects to be paid for with Tax Increment Financing District money, and some computer software and equipment purchases will also be considered.

Aldermen will also hear a request to allow for a grant to be applied for that would help pay for improvements to Rotary Park when aldermen meet at 6:30 Monday evening inside council chambers at Galesburg City Hall.
