No Suspects in Attempted Armed Robbery at 21 Club
Police are investigating an alleged attempted armed robbery at a Galesburg nightclub Monday night.

According to a Galesburg Police report, a black male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt allegedly held up a bartender for cash on the second level of 21 Club shortly before midnight. The suspect is of a medium build and is approximately five-feet, nine-inches tall.

Police say the suspect pointed a silver and black handgun at the 23-year-old victim and demanded she hand over a green deposit bag. They say the bartender was grabbed at as she ran towards the basement door. The suspect bolted out a rear exit before the authorities arrived. The bag fell to the floor and all $317-dollars remained inside.

Investigators are checking the money bag for fingerprints. Witnesses however say the suspect may have been wearing gloves. There are no surveillance cameras on the second floor of 21 Club.

If you have any further information for police regarding this incident please contact them or the Galesburg-Area Crime-stoppers hotline.
