Suspected Armed Apartment Invaders Plead Not Guilty
Two Galesburg men suspected of invading a North Academy Street apartment earlier this month pleaded not guilty this week to a host a criminal charges.

20-year-old Michael Bicknell and 21-year-old Trey Martinez pled not guilty Monday to two counts each of Home Invasion and Residential Burglary. They've also been charged with a single count of Conspiracy.

Bicknell and Martinez are accused of arming themselves and concealing their identities with masks during the overnight hours May first. They allegedly tried entering 287 North Academy Street, and police say the owner of the residence fired his own shots at them.

Knox County Circuit Court records indicate both men demanded a trial by jury. Bicknell will return to court for a July second Pre-Trial Conference. Martinez is scheduled to appear August sixth.

Court documents also show Circuit Judge James Stewart on Monday granted a continuance on Bicknell's medical furlough. The temporary release from prison was first issued May ninth so he could seek treatment for an eye injury sustained during the alleged incident.

Martinez remains jailed on $500,000-dollars bond.
