Another Local Youth Honored for All Her Work
Another Galesburg teenager is being honored for everything she does for the community.

Laura Minor recently was awarded the Galesburg Youth Extra Effort Award by the city's Youth Commission. Like Allison Buelt just a few weeks prior, Minor was nominated for the honor by the Knox County Teen Court, where she's gone up the ranks from juror to both prosecuting and defense attorney.

Minor's mother Judy says she's proud of everything her daughter has done.

"Laura has just blown us away with all the different things she volunteers in," she said. "She works, she's constantly always giving of her time to many, many places-- I'd probably take all night if I were to same them all. So good job Laura."

The list of things Laura Minor has been involved in is long, including being on the GHS Swim Team, Stage Call, National Honor Society, and the GHS Budget Student Newspaper, where she was photography editor.

And that's just in school. Outside of it, she's been a member of the city's Youth Commission, and is involved in her church.
