One Arrested, One Wanted, for Academy Street Shooting Incident
FIRST REPORTED 4:19pm, UPDATED 4:57pm 5/7/12 One Galesburg man has been arrested and a warrant is out for another's arrest in connection to last week's suspected apartment shooting on Academy Street.

Galesburg Police say 20-year-old Michael G.D. Bicknell was arrested Monday for Home Invasion and Residential Burglary. They say 21-year-old Trey Shaquil Martinez is wanted on the same charges.

Police suspect both men of attempting to break in to the apartments at 287 North Academy Street early Tuesday morning. Bicknell and Martinez were allegedly armed, and wore masks to conceal their identities.

Galesburg Police Chief David Christensen said last week the apartment's owner fought back, shooting his own gun at the suspected burglars. Christensen indicated at the time both suspects were hospitalized at an unknown Galesburg hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The apartment's owner is not being charged.

Authorities ask if you have any further information on the whereabouts of Martinez to please contact the Galesburg Police Department of the Galesburg-Area CrimeStoppers.
