Judge Softens Bond for Galesburg Sitter Accused of Shaking Baby
The price a Galesburg baby-sitter and alleged baby-shaker must pay to be released from prison on bond was lowered considerably Monday.

Knox County Circuit Court records indicate 21-year-old Marina England must now only pay ten-percent of $10,000-dollars. Circuit Judge Paul Mangieri reduced it from $50,000-dollars at a Bond Reduction Hearing Monday morning.

England is accused of shaking a 3-month-old infant the night of April 17th, causing head injuries to the child. Prosecutors allege she screamed at and shook the tot when the baby would not drink from its bottle. The child's mother came home and allegedly saw the suspected incident, while a six-year-old sibling also claims to have witnessed it.

England was charged almost two weeks ago with Aggravated Battery of a Child, Domestic Battery, and Endangering the Life of a Child.

According to court documents, other terms of the bond include no contact with the victim and no unsupervised contact with any minors under the age of 12. England is scheduled to next appear in court Tuesday. May 15th, at 2 pm for a Preliminary Hearing.
