UPDATE: Boil Order Could be Lifted By 3:30pm Friday
The City of Galesburg now has a pretty good idea of exactly when the boil order caused by flooding at the city's water pumping station in Oquawka will be over with.

The City has issued a statement indicating that assuming everything goes as planned, the boil order should be lifted by 3:30pm Friday.

They say that's because water samples have officially been collected from here in town as well as the city's water customers in East Galesburg, Knoxville, Little York, and Abingdon, and that should be about the time testing results are known.

As a result, the city also says the city's swimming facilities will likely re-open Saturday morning.

The city also says distribution of bottled water provided by the State to Galesburg residents has ceased, and that the remaining supplies are being held back as an emergency for hospitals and long-term care facilities, and that any left over when the boil order is lifted will be given to other communities whose water systems don't work.

WHEN THE BOIL ORDER IS LIFTED, WE'LL IMMEDIATELY LET YOU KNOW ON GALESBURG RADIO 14, WGIL.
