BOIL ORDER LIFTED!

Officials with the City of Galesburg say the tests which were conducted on the water supply met the EPA standards allowing the boil order to be lifted today.

The City says residents should still take precautions such as flushing water lines and water heaters, sanitizing sinks and facets.

The lifted boil order includes the cities of Galesburg, Knoxville, East Galesburg and Abingdon.

The City's aquatic centers are still closed for the afternoon but will reopen at regular hours tomorrow morning.

The City says in a press release they would like to thank numerous groups and individuals for helping the water supply remain uninterrupted and for distributing fresh water.
