District 205 Board to Take Up Busy Agenda
Some items board members held off on at their regular meeting two weeks ago, and what will ultimately be a slight cost increase for students purchasing lunch from the Galesburg School District, will top a special board meeting being held Monday night.

The Galesburg School Board is holding the special meeting, initially, so that it could consider a number of bids for a project that will build new locker rooms at Lombard Middle School, since the former Zephyr Dome is in disrepair and no longer being used.

However, at a buildings committee meeting Friday, the district learned that the lowest bid received for the project had an error in it, and that all other bids are too high, so board members are expected to vote to reject all bids.

The District-205 board will also consider increasing milk prices in the district by a dime, from 30-cents per carton, to 40-cents.

District officials say food service provider Aramark will be losing about that much per carton due to salary and other benefits increases, and they say ala carte menu prices will increase if milk isn't.

Those items and several others when the board convenes at 6:00 Monday night in the district’s board room at Lincoln School.
