Henderson County Flood Victims Urged to Have Properties Reassessed ASAP
Henderson County residents who own property that sustained substantial damage due to the recent floods should apply to have their property reassessed.

Henderson County Assessor Melinda Clark says her office has disaster area applications for reassessment of taxable property available. Clark wants all property owners who were affected by the flooding to apply for reassessment of their properties as soon as possible.

President Bush has declared 13 Illinois counties federal disaster areas. Those counties include Henderson and Mercer in western Illinois. The counties are also among 24 declared as state disaster areas by Governor Rod Blagojevich.

In addition, the Henderson County Sheriff's Office says an informational meeting on flood relief will be held at 6pm Wednesday at the West Central High School gymnasium in Biggsville. Flood victims are strongly urged to attend if they can.
