Extra Police Patrols for Railroad Days
Galesburg, IL (June 25, 2008)-Safety for the Railroad Days participants and attendees is important for everyone's enjoyment, therefore the Galesburg Police Department will provide extra patrols on bicycle, foot and motorcycle during the four-day event, June 26-29, 2008.

The Galesburg Emergency Police and Explorers will furnish additional police support. Persons needing emergency assistance while enjoying the Railroad Days festival should dial 9-1-1.

Another safety measure which was enacted by the City Council in 2005 provides that no dogs be allowed in public areas where large numbers of people gather. There will be no dogs allowed in certain areas of the Railroad Days festival. Signs will be posted marking the areas where dogs are prohibited. Service dogs are not included in this prohibition.
