CSC Approves New Budget
State funding is apparently still plenty uncertain, but that's not stopping officials from Carl Sandburg College to say they will do the best they can with taxpayer and tuition money.

The C-S-C Board of Trustees Thursday night approved a budget for Fiscal Year 2009, though school officials say they really don't know if they'll get their remaining state funding this year, nor do they know how much in state dollars they’ll get this year.

C-S-C Chief Financial Officer Lisa Blake says it's a balanced budget, and one of the biggest areas of change in the new budget comes in the form of capital projects like the Annex, the Capital Refresh Program and the Enrollment Management Partner.

Capital Refresh refers to a general upgrade of furniture and other related needs, while the enrollment management partner is a firm that the college has retained that will help not only recruit students to the college, but also get them to stay.
