Galesburg Couple Hospitalized After Domestic Disturbance

A Galesburg man and woman are hospitalized after what police say was a domestic disturbance early Wednesday morning in an apartment on Home Boulevard.

Police say 25-year old Eligio Vargas Junior and 26-year old Nichole Seibert were transported to local hospitals by GHAS and were still being treated as of 8:00 Wednesday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the residence they share at 644 Home Boulevard, apartment 102 around 4:40 a-m to a disturbance and reported stabbing. Authorities say an investigation revealed Seibert had allegedly been battered by Vargas, and that he had been stabbed by Seibert.

Police say the incident is still under investigation, and charges are pending against Vargas and Siebert.
