Woman Charged in Stabbing Incident, Charges Pending Against Boyfriend

An altercation early Wednesday morning that left the two people involved hurt is resulting in a charge against one of them.

Galesburg police responded to an apartment on Home Boulevard shared by 26-year old Nichole Seibert and 25-year Eligio Vargas Junior around 4:30 a-m Wednesday. Authorities say Vargas battered Seibert, and she in turn stabbed him twice in the arm and once in the abdomen with a knife.

Reports say the two fought after she returned home early Wednesday morning after working and going out with friends.

Both have since been treated and released from the two Galesburg hospitals. Seibert is being charged with misdemeanor domestic battery for her role in the altercation, while police say charges against Vargas are pending.
