Former Secretary of State Set to Speak at Knox Commencement Saturday; CEREMONIES LIVE ON WGIL

The president of Knox College says this year's speaker at the institution's annual commencement won't be in town just to speak to the graduating class. Roger Taylor says former U.S. Secretary of State Madeline Albright will also have plenty of time to interact with Knox Students, as she is scheduled to be in town later today ahead of tomorrow's ceremonies.

Taylor tells WGIL Albright will take part in some traditional commencement activities, but also another activity she wants to do. "We have a traditional dinner for honorary degree recipients," Taylor said, "but she's going to come in a little earlier because she wants to spend some time with the students. As you know, she's a college professor by trade, if you will. So, late Friday afternoon, she's going to spend time with students. She calls it 'The Secretary in the Classroon.' Then she's going to spend the night with Ann and me at the Ingersol House."

And if you've ever wanted to know just what a former Secretary of State and former United Nations Ambassador like to eat, Taylor says she wants scrambled eggs for breakfast tomorrow morning.

Albright's address is one of a number of activities surrounding Saturday's commencement activities.

Tune in for a special broadcast of the commencement ceremonies from Knox College live Saturday at 10am, on AM 1400 WGIL.
