Not Guilty Plea in Galesburg Fatal DUI Case
A Galesburg woman has entered a not guilty plea in connection to an accident she is accused of causing that killed another woman.

34-year old Lori Mahnesmith has demanded a jury trial in the case where she faces charges including aggravated driving under the influence of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI and accidental injury/death.

Mahnesmith allegedly had five different drugs in her system when she was headed northbound on Allens Avenue, drove through the front yard and struck a vehicle that was parked in the driveway.

75-year old Madge Gossage was sitting in that parked vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mahnesmith was in court Wednesday for her arraignment with her public defender and will next be in court for her pretrial hearing on August 4th at 9am.
