Henderson County Man Gives Chase to Police, Arrested on Drug Charges
A Henderson County man is in jail after leading police from two communities on a chase, and after his vehicle allegedly contained a methamphetamine lab.

Henderson County Sheriff Mark Lumbeck says 25-year old Travis Hanson was arrested Monday on preliminary charges including Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding Police, Possession of Meth, and Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia, among others.

Lumbeck says the chase began in Burlington, after police there tried to pursue Hanson on a traffic charge. He says Hanson ended up back in Illinois and jumped out of his van on Carman Road, fleeing on foot until he was caught near the Carman Post Office.

Lumbeck says, in his words, a large meth lab was found in the van by authorities including his investigators, Burlington Police, and the Southeastern Iowa Drug Task Force.

Hanson, who allegedly was on parole in Illinois on drug charges, is in the Henderson County Jail without bond pending a court appearance.
