Fourth Peorian Involved in Galesburg Shooting Makes Plea
An 18-year old from Peoria pleaded not guilty to a number of felonies in relation to an incident where shots ended up being fired in a local grocery store parking lot.

Fayez Y. Samhan was in Knox county Court Wednesday for his first appearance with a public defender and pleaded not guilty to felony counts of Home Invasion, Armed Robbery, Residential Burglary, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.

Samhan was arrested with three other Peoria men after an alleged home invasion and the firing of a weapon at the Main and Henderson Street Aldi earlier this month. Police reports indicate the men were identified by witnesses leaving a Cedar Street residence and are allegedly linked to shots that were fired in the grocery store lot soon after the home invasion took place.

Samhan, through his attorney Judith Seritella of Peoria, also requested a preliminary hearing scheduled for next month. The court will also hear a motion for a bond reduction hearing at the same time.

Samhan is currently being held in the Knox County Jail awaiting his next court appearance.

The three other men were in court Tuesday for their bond reduction hearings as they await their next court appearances in the case.
