Clothing Outfit Returning to Galesburg
A company established in 1931 and operating more than 700 stores across the country will soon be coming back to the Galesburg area. Maurices has announced they will be opening up a store in the Seminary Square Center planned for September after their old store at Sandburg Mall closed their doors in 2002.

An official with the store says they will feature styles that work from every day casual to special occasion clothing in the space that has approximately 4,000 square feet. Maurices also carries their own line of exclusive clothing lines. Senior Vice President of Maurices stores John Schroeder says they look for the best opportunity in each market and the development in the area where they are moving into looked like the perfect opportunity to reach their target customers.

The company, which already has 46 stores in the state including locations in Peoria, the Quad Cities, and Kewanee, will employ 5 to 10 associates, including manager, assistants and part time sales. The Galesburg facility is one of more than 50 Maurices stores that will open nationwide this year.

Schroeder says they are excited to open in Galesburg and they look forward to to bringing customers a new option for young women's clothing as well as an exciting new shopping experience.
